The overall objective is to create new jobs in the formal sector thus contributing to poverty reduction in the West Bank. The target group and the final financial beneficiaries of the project are the people in the northern West Bank of the State of Palestine. The region will benefit from the new jobs created in JIFZ’s modern factories and / or service industries.
The project will create an industrial estate (890,000 m2) in Jenin near the green line border with Israel. Works should be implemented in areas B and C. The infrastructure to be implemented through PIEFZA and funded by German Financial Cooperation includes the development of all needed infrastructure components outside and within the industrial property area.
The infrastructure to be implemented through PIEFZA and co-financed by the Federal Republic of Germany through KfW is described below:
- Lot 2: Design and Construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant: Detailed First and Second Phase Design, First Phase Construction Only.
- Lot 3: Construction of facilities abroad.
- Lot 4: Construction of water supply network, fire hydrant system, sewerage network.
Water supply network: 6.032m pipeline HDPE100PN10 (26m ND 3115, 511m ND 250, 672m ND 200, 3.3m ND 160, 933m ND63, 583m ND 40), about 28 hydrants.
Sewer network: Corrugated HDPE pipes (1.987m ND200, 1.608 ND300, 154m ND400), about 67 monitoring chambers.
- Lot 5: Construction of asphalt roads and pavements.
About 2,650m length 25m wide road, 2,830m length 25m wide road, about 585m lenght 1.5m wide road, 417m length 17.6m wide road.
- Lot 6: Construction of power supply network and street lighting.
1 main distribution center, 6 sub distribution stations, about 4,000m channels for cables, about 18,000m cable.
- Lot 7: Construction of storm water drainage network.
About 4.250m BA ND300-ND1000 pipes.
